Day 39: Happy Half Birthday to ME!

In my 9th and 10th grade classes I decided to take over for the week. I printed out a picture of my mom, my dad, and the three most important people in my life (and one of their wives) and glued them to a board. I then instructed the class that they would be dividing into groups and coming up with personalities and back-stories for each character on the board and creating a soap opera about them all and acting out the first scene. We did an activity like this a few weeks ago in one of my Master's classes and it was beyond fun. These kids, though, just don't seem to have the creativity we older Americans do (this is not the first time I've realized this) and pretty much had all the characters be related to each other and in a big family drama situation. >_< They're supposed to have their first scenes prepared and acted out for next week - hopefully they'll be more interesting! I can't wait to tell them at the end of the project who these people actually are! Haha.

After school all that was between me and my first three day weekend was a private lesson. I had thought about cancelling it all day long, but decided I needed to be the mature version of myself and just go through with it. When I gathered up my things to head to our meeting point pick up, though, I got a txt message from the mom saying she was sorry but they wouldn't be able to do a lesson today.

HALLELUJAH!

I started doing a jig, singing, "Hell Yes! Hell YES! HELL YES!" and my favorite teacher man started laughing at me. :) SO EXCITED.

And so I went to my doctor's appointment I was going to skip after school and got the approval of the doctor that my wart had actually successfully died and that he didn't see any left. He said if I saw anything to come right back and he'd take care of it. YAY!

Wart removal in the US without insurance: $300.
Wart removal in Spain with private insurance paid for by the university: FREE, mofos!

I spent the rest of the night hanging out with my roomies and made them each a chocolate melting cake with a scoop of ice cream. :) They loved them!! Instead of using semi sweet chocolate chips (couldn't find them in the huge grocery store), I bought a dark chocolate candy bar, and I actually think it made it taste even yummier than ever!

XOXO
