Day 33: New Hair-do & Maria in Madrid

I had big plans for my long-awaited Friday. I was super excited. The first thing I did after my long walk home from school was summon the courage to step into a salon. It wasn't as tricky as I'd feared it might be and after two (stumbling) sentences, they had me in a chair, picking out hair colors and prepping the foils. At first they thought my idea was outlandish, but they did it anyway. While I was attempted to explain what I wanted, the lady suggested I might cut my hair in a few layers so that you could see the lighter tone on bottom. Brilliant. They colored my hair, rinsed and washed it and cut it in to time. The man seriously just started chopping his scissors all around my head and voila - I looked fabulous! I couldn't wait to run home and dry it and see what it looked like.

I was more than pleasantly surprised. It was everything I had wanted it to be and more. I had envisioned it looking like this, but had been sure I hadn't been able to translate it into Spanish properly - but something went right, because I love it! :)

After my hair appointment, it was too late to go into Madrid for cupcakes (huge sad face) and so I waited for Maria to call me to go into Madrid together. We met up with her boyfriend and went out for dinner and drinks and had a lovely time. :) We were on our way home before the last train departed, so we didn't have to deal with the night bus!

XOXO
